CapaCITY/É is a national interdisciplinary research team dedicated to the implementation of All Ages and Abilities bicycle networks and speed management interventions. They host a Summer Institute to share knowledge with the academic community by teaching graduate students and emerging professionals (and at least one undergrad, Cale!)

Cale will work with other students, academics and city practitioners to learn about implementation science for healthy city transportation networks. They will participate in expert-led workshops, panel discussions, networking events, and practitioner-led learning hubs. The final product of the training is to present an idea to the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals (CARSP).

Keep an eye on this space for updates about what Cale learned at the CapaCITY/É Summer Institute and the ideas they present at the CARSP meeting!

Memorial University Logo

The Hub for the Study of Local Governance in Newfoundland and Labrador (SLG Hub) is based out of Memorial University, which is located on the ancestral homelands of the Beothuk, whose culture has now been erased forever and can never be recovered.

We acknowledge the island of Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland) as the unceded, traditional territory of the Beothuk and the Mi'kmaq. We also acknowledge Labrador as the traditional and ancestral homelands of the Innu of Nitassinan, the Inuit of Nunatsiavut, and the Inuit of NunatuKavut.

As First Peoples have done since time immemorial, we strive to be responsible stewards of the land and to respect the cultures, ceremonies, and traditions of all who call it home. As we open our hearts and minds to the past, we commit ourselves to working in a spirit of truth and reconciliation to make a better future for all.

Thank you to First Light for the use of your educational resources.
